How long does it take to make a rug. How long is a piece of string ? Technically it depends on how fine (how many knots to a square metre) it is and of course how big it is. How do I chose which quality / price to have ? Harder to answer this. Most designs can be made in various qualities. Hand Tufted or Hand Knotted being the main ones. If you decide to go for Hand Knotted then you have a choice of how finely woven it should be. Generally speaking the smaller the rug and/or the more complicated the design the finer it has to be. Different qualities also have different specifications for example Chubi uses hand spun wool and natural dyes. Indo Nepali has a high lustre. The price codes are intended as a guide only. There are a number of factors than influence the price of a rug. If a design is required in a smaller size than that which was intended then the price will be higher as we will have to make it in a finer quality. If however the rug is to be very large then it can be made in a less fine quality at a lower price.
